I am attracted to playfulness as a strong connection to people, their nature, and life stories. In my work, I explore themes of belonging, vanishing traditions, and individual and collective experiences revealed through people's life stories.

Vita Malahova is a performer, theatre maker and mask maker born in 1986 in Latvia. Vita holds a BA in Physical Theatre from Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Switzerland and an MA in Expanded Theatre from the University of Applied Sciences in Bern.  She is the founder of the theatre group I Patom Theatre, with which she has created and performed plays such as "I RAN AND GOT TIRED," based on poems by Daniil Harms, the traveling performance "MY HOMELAND IS A SUITCASE," the solo performance "MANIFESTO OF A BREAD MAKER," and the documentary play "THE ILLITERATE: A Story of Forgotten Ancestors and Plants."

In Latvia, Vita has created productions such as "PRASI MAIZEI," "KRĀSAINĀS PASAKAS," and "LAI DZĪVO PUTNI!” as part of the Sansusī Festival program. She has engaged in international collaborations with theatre directors and companies such as Lola Arias (during her MA studies in HKB), Astragali Teatro (IT), Metropolis (DK), Biloura Collective (IT), CuntsCollective (DK), Hakkehuset (DK), etc. Currently, Vita works as a freelance actress and theatre artist in Denmark, Switzerland, and Latvia.
